IT’S THAT MAN AGAIN: JAY STOLL AND THE WAR ON FREE SPEECH AND EQUALITY.

Recently I wrote about the events at the LSE’s Fresher’s Fair, which saw two members of the student atheist society being escorted from the premises for wearing mildly satirical T shirts. http://alextalbot.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/london-letter-october-2013.html

The figure at the heart of these events is the General Secretary of the Student Union at the LSE, a Mr Jay Stoll.[1] He is now at it again, condemning the outrage over advice given by Universities UK, that the segregation of audiences along gender lines should be permissible should religious speakers, ( read Islamic),[2] demand it.[3] This time the Islamacist appeasers of the left had gone too far and met with the appropriate response. Mr Stoll is not happy and immediately denounced the campaign gainst such segregation as…you guessed correctly, ‘Islamaphobic.’

Mr Stoll has already been denounced as a “sanctimonious prig” by Richard Dawkins. I fear Mr Dawkins was being too kind. For Mr Stoll and his ilk have an agenda that greatly extends beyond genuflecting to the bigotry and intolerance of Islamism, lest they loose their ‘political correct’ credentials. These people are pathologically hostile to extending free speech to those whom they find distasteful and will always oppose the liberal norms and values of Western Europe whenever them come into conflict with radical Islam. Their position, part post colonial cringe part far left orthodoxy is poisoning sections of our society. That the rot should have eaten so deeply into the culture of our universities of all places should give us all cause for alarm.

[1] Mr Stoll is contactable at the Following Address, Jay Stoll General Secretary LSE Students’ Union Kingsley Rooms, East Building Houghton Street London WC2A 2AE +44 (0) 20 7955 7147 www.lsesu.com If you are as outraged as my self you could try contacting him, as indeed I did, though I fear you may have little luck, since Mr Stoll is the sort of pompous individual who conducts dialogue through the mechanism of the ‘press release.’
[2] It is customary to say Islamic or Orthodox Jewish, though this is a fig leaf, I can find no incidences when orthodox Jews have demanded such an arrangement,
